What you will learn

Practice this visual check: Keep the upper edge of the lower body, let the roof rise above the front wheels, and then compare the diameters of the two wheels.

Shapes and proportions

First use a fold line that is narrow at the top and wide at the bottom to hook the roof. The front window and the side window are divided into two oblique quadrilaterals, connected to the hood forward and the low body rearward, and connected to the chassis with two round wheels.

A common mistake

With the bed drawn as high as the roof, the pickup can easily be transformed into a van.

How to fix it

Keep the upper edge of the lower body, let the roof rise above the front wheels, and then compare the diameters of the two wheels.

These three images are key-stage previews: the starting shape, the completed outline, and a new crayon color study. Follow the complete drawing sequence in LittlePaper. On paper, leave room around the first shape for the parts added later.

A few things to start with

Select the color of the part to complete the crayon draft

The pickup truck body is coral red, the two tires are the same charcoal gray, the two wheels are silver gray, and the glass is light blue. Apply the color first with light pressure, leaving the black outline, and then compare pairs of parts using the same color.
