What you will learn

Practice this visual check: Let the two front legs go down side by side, expose the back feet from both sides, and then connect the S-shaped long tail on one side.

Shapes and proportions

The two pointed ears and the arc bottom are connected to form a cat head. Position the eyes and nose in the middle of the face, attach a small hat to the head, extend the two front legs from the central axis under the head, round the back legs on both sides, and finish with an S-shaped long tail.

A common mistake

If the tail is too straight and the front legs are too wide apart, the sitting kitten will look like a standing cat.

How to fix it

Let the two front legs go down side by side, expose the back feet from both sides, and then connect the S-shaped long tail on one side.

These three images are key-stage previews: the starting shape, the completed outline, and a new crayon color study. Follow the complete drawing sequence in LittlePaper. On paper, leave room around the first shape for the parts added later.

Select the color of the part to complete the crayon draft

The kitten's body is creamy yellow, its tail tip and feet are brown, its ears and pads are pink, and its Christmas hat and scarf are red. Apply the color first with light pressure, leaving the black outline, and then compare pairs of parts using the same color.
