What you will learn
Practice this visual check: Let the clouds block each other, change their size, and stagger and add lightning polylines under the clouds.
Shapes and proportions
First draw a small arc edge of the cloud on the lower left side. Expand the cloud layer to the left, right and above, maintain the central sky gap, and place short grass lines and sawtooth lightning below.
A common mistake
If all clouds are drawn as circles of the same size, the storm levels will not be visible.
How to fix it
Let the clouds block each other, change their size, and stagger and add lightning polylines under the clouds.
These three images are key-stage previews: the starting shape, the completed outline, and a new crayon color study. Follow the complete drawing sequence in LittlePaper. On paper, leave room around the first shape for the parts added later.
A few things to start with

Select the color of the part to complete the crayon draft
Each layer of storm clouds is blue-gray, lightning cream yellow, grassland khaki, and the sky outside the clouds remains transparent. Apply the color first with light pressure, leaving the black outline, and then compare pairs of parts using the same color.
