What you will learn

Practice this visual check: Let the middle section form a drooping U arc, with both sides passing over the crossbar and extending downward.

Shapes and proportions

First draw a slender vertical rectangle. Cross the short rectangle at the top, build U-shaped fabric arcs on both sides and hang down the fabric tail, and add parallel grain lines.

A common mistake

The middle section of the cloth is drawn straight, and the length of the left and right tails has nothing to do with it, so there is no sense of hanging.

How to fix it

Let the middle section form a drooping U arc, with both sides passing over the crossbar and extending downward.

Select the color of the part to complete the crayon draft

The wooden cross is warm brown, the left and right hanging fabrics are the same purple, and the gaps in the hanging curve are transparent. Apply the color first with light pressure, leaving the black outline, and then compare pairs of parts using the same color.
