What you will learn
Practice this visual check: Turn forward and upward smoothly along the topline and compare the distance between the two curves of the neck.
Shapes and proportions
Position the upper right small head first. Bend the long neck from the head, connect it to the left with a wide arched back and a slender curved tail; add short legs in groups under the abdomen.
A common mistake
The neck suddenly rises from the top of the back and appears stiff and folded.
How to fix it
Turn forward and upward smoothly along the topline and compare the distance between the two curves of the neck.
Position the upper right small head first.
These three images are key-stage previews: the starting shape, the completed outline, and a new crayon color study. Follow the complete drawing sequence in LittlePaper. On paper, leave room around the first shape for the parts added later.
