What you will learn

Practice this visual check: Keep the arm in front and let the wings emerge from the back. Let each upper skirt layer cover the next layer root and leave comparable space for both hair buns.

Shapes and proportions

Enclose a rounded face with pointed ears. Place eyes with upward lashes, a small nose and an open smile inside the face. Attach a bun on each side, connect neck and shoulders to the bodice, and let one hand hold a thin wand. Spread the skirt in overlapping pointed layers, then add legs and wings behind the body. An open smile, lifted wand and light wings suggest encouragement and a small wish.

A common mistake

Wings drawn in front of the arms or skirt layers without overlap makes the body structure difficult to read.

How to fix it

Keep the arm in front and let the wings emerge from the back. Let each upper skirt layer cover the next layer root and leave comparable space for both hair buns.
